Google™ Account Information

What we access: Your Google™ email address
Why:

  • Authenticate you as a user

  • Track individual progress (e.g., scoring system) using Google Apps Script’s built‑in User Properties

How it’s protected:

  • Data is never shared externally

  • It remains within Google™’s secure infrastructure and is scoped only to the user session

Google Slides™ Content

What we access: Content within the active Google Slides™ file
Why:

  • To insert, move, and validate draggable items for the sorting activity

  • To enable real‑time interaction with your slide content

How it’s protected:

  • Access is limited to the current Slides™ presentation only

  • We do not store or transmit slide content to any external server

  • All data remains under your Google™ Drive control

User‑Provided Game Data

What we access: Custom input you provide (e.g., sorting steps, correct answers)
Why:

  • To power the sorting game logic (e.g., order checking, feedback)

How it’s protected:

  • Data is stored temporarily in memory or in your current Slides™ file

  • Not stored externally or sent to third parties

External Requests

MakeSort™ allows optional fetching of public images from third‑party APIs (e.g., Pexels) if initiated by the user.

Protection Measures:

  • External requests do not include any personal data

  • Only public image data is fetched over secure HTTPS connections

  • Only approved domains are accessed (whitelisted in manifest)

Data Storage and Retention

  • MakeSort™ does not use any external servers or databases

  • All data (user input, scores, etc.) is stored in either:

    • The user’s active Slides™ file

    • Google Apps Script’s User Properties tied to the current user

Users can delete all data at any time by clearing the slides or removing the add‑on.

Security and Protection Mechanisms

MakeSort™ implements the following measures:

  • Uses only the minimum required OAuth scopes

  • All interactions occur inside Google™’s trusted Apps Script environment

  • No cookies, trackers, or persistent identifiers are used

  • No third‑party access to your Google™ data is permitted

Compliance

MakeSort™ complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

Educational Use

MakeSort™ is intended for students, teachers, and education professionals to support skills like sequencing and logic. It is not designed for commercial use.

Your Rights

  • Access: Your data stays in your Google™ account; no request is needed to access it

  • Control: You can edit or delete any game data in your Slides™

  • Portability: Since MakeSort™ does not store external data, no additional portability mechanisms are required
